Sharing know-how

Melvita supports the "Le Rucher du Cade" employee association in its mission to raise awareness about the importance of saving bees.

Created in 2013 by a small group of employees passionate about beekeeping, the association's objective is to establish and maintain an apiary on the company's sites so that, each year, more employees can be introduced to beekeeping.

This collaborative work also raises awareness about what is at stake in the face of the decline of bee populations, and the importance of protecting biodiversity.

Since 2016, the production site in Lagorce, in the Ardèche, has been home to a BEE-PASS educational beehive, which is part of a tour focused on bees, beekeeping and biodiversity. It enables employees, and also the public, to discover the amazing world of bees.

David Sauvaire, President of the Le Rucher du Cade association

"We are living in a time where entire colonies of bees are disappearing in the thousands, across the world. Every action we take, even if it seems insignificant, is important, because the bees of today are working to feed the children of tomorrow."

IN THE PAST 5 YEARS:

• 45 beehives set up

• 2.7 million bees

• 115 people given training
